Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope that you are well! This Tuesday I have for you guys a very simple look, that isn't really the main attraction of this post, if I'm being completely honest. The unavoidable beauty of these wondrous flowers behind me is hard to miss. Because I suck and I am not as fluent in plant life as I would like to be, I can't tell you want these flowers are called, but I will say that they were an unforgettable gem found on my LA trip! I know what you're thinking "Ashlee, when are you going to stop flashing back to your vacation?" My answer is NEVER! MUAHAHAAHA! Just kidding, I have one more post to conclude my LA fashion series and then I am finish and will be getting back to posting about looks that have been made, photographed, lived in Atlanta.
This look is meant to capture the area that I was staying in while simultaneously showing you that less is more when it comes to Los Angeles weather. Highland Park is unavoidably beautiful, yet surprisingly simple to navigate around. The neighborhood is a melting pot of very different communities that live harmoniously in one area.
I wanted this particular look to do the same thing. I've combined clothing items that are different and strong in there own right, but when brought together work harmoniously in a cute and chic way. Starting with my top and working my way down, the one thing that I liked about this cropped blouse is the prairie ruffles! To my surprise, there are light shoulder pads underneath each ruffle. The slight touch of an 80s staple makes me love this blouse even more!
Now, let's talk about this skirt. I have styled and worn this skirt before, but never with a cropped blouse. And to let you all in on a secret, this skirt is not high-wasted at all. I pulled it up so that my muffin top and belly button would not show. The skirt was being worn as a real mini and with an sudden moves my little ( rather large, LOL) butt cheeks would have been out! I thought that the clean choices of colors between the crisp white of the blouse and light blue of the denim skirt pair nicely together.
For my accessories I wanted to use stable pieces that added pops of color, to give this look some union with the flowers behind me. This look was less calculated than I am leading on, but now that I have had time to really sit and mull over my decisions it is clear to me that my intention are clear, and I kinda know what I'm doing when it comes to describing my looks to you guys!
That's all that I have for you guys today! I hope that you enjoyed reading my little rambles. As always thank you so much for reading! Until Next time!
