Hello Everyone, I hope that you are all well on this fine Friday!
The following that you about to read is an explanation/rant (probably unnecessary, but I feel should be said)
I hate small talk, so I'll get to the point, this blog post was suppose to be up yesterday, it was not, because I did not plan well enough this week. I felt like I did plan well earlier in the week because Tuesday 's blog post was up without a hitch, but I worked late Wednesday, and Thursday I was working on a project for someone else, and when I am working for someone else I tend to give it my complete all as if the project was my own. So, as a result I neglect my own work to get others things done. I hate not being the person of my word. When I say that I am going to do something, I come through every time or I don't commit to the situation, and it's twice as bad when I make a promise/deadline to myself and I still don't come through. I say all this because I want others who may read this to see that I love my fashion blog very much and I take it very seriously (as if I get paid) because this isn't just a hobby, I have a passion for this field and I strongly believe that being consistent is the key to my success, So, I will use these past two weeks as a learning experience to plan a head and stay focus until the job is complete.
Now back to your normal program
It was requested of me via Instagram to show how I style loafers. First, can I just say that I was completely flattered to have been asked how to style something by anyone, (I don't have much of a following on Instagram, and I have no idea who actually reads my blog post, it twas nice to be asked for advice, LOL)
Anyway, my approach to this request was fresh, clear, and concise because I got asked whilst on vacation and when I returned I felt as though I was rejuvenated enough to tackle this project head- on. I don't have many loafers, and I will admit that they are cheap and well worn, but I worked around the mishaps and created looks where comfortable and functional. I decided to give three different options of how you could style loafers because I feel that we all different and if you don't like one of these looks you can definitely fine another look you like, or put together your own from what you and using my looks as inspiration, which tends to always work. Generally, I styled each look with the loafers in mind (obviously). I also like being comfortable and I find that loafers are shoes that allow me to reach my highest "at homebody" potential in a very chic and fashionable way while walking through public.
Look 1
From previous posts, I've mentioned that when creating a look I like to start with a item of clothing and then dress around it. So, for this look particular I started with my pleated culottes (and loafers of course). As the look started forming in my head I gravitated toward a blouse that gave off the same energy as my culottes and loafers, free and transformative. So, I do what I always do, I ask my mom and I take a gander in her closet. I look through her blouses and my hand lingers on this particular top. I love the color and texture, it's not too restricting and is just the pop of color that I need. It also reminded me of industrial work environments. I tend to pull minimalistic inspirations from the industrial times. As a statement piece, I paired my blouse with a red bandana, to give some type of color context to my very blue blouse. I also think thats its edgy looking and makes me look chic with little work. I ended this look with my leather jacket to really tie in the industrial rebel, who believes in nonconformity and freedom. I should also mention that this look is versatile and I would wear in the evening and during the day.

Look 2
For my second look, I started out with my graphic tee as my starting point and ended with my bag. A little back story on this shirt, I've been stalking it at the mall for a little over a month and I just didn't have the money at the time to get it (saving for my vacation) when I wanted to, so by fluke while shopping at Topshop in the Grove, Brandi finds the exact same shirt in the sales section, and as fate would I have it I buy the shirt and the rest is history! I saw this look as being a casual attempt of dressing down an office job look. I could picture myself wearing this look out to lunch with some colleagues from corporate, lol. I think the loafers and bag make me look way more important than I really am. The casual look reached it's peak with the addition of these khaki culottes. I feel very retro in this look, if I wore a navy blue blazer I would be ready for the office! I would definitely say that this look is my trying to appeal to those that dress business casual and conservative on a daily basis , i.e. why I keep saying "office" "casual" and or "corporate" interchangeably throughout this paragraph. Lol, sorry about that!

Look 3
For my third and final look, I went with the "kiss" method, Keep it simple, Sally. From the looks that you've seen, you can either over dress or semi-dress, loafers within your wardrobe. Now, let's take things slow and go back to basics. My love for pleats is so real and true. It's just something about its elegance of material that draws my attention in every time. So I went with a strappy pleated top and jean skirt combo. This duo is as minimalistic as I can get, without posing nude, LOL! The one thing I like the most about this look is how relaxed my jean skirt looks in comparison to my very dignified loafers. The harsh juxtaposition of relaxed and serious is pleasing to the eyes (or at least my eyes, Lol). Gold accents bring the best looks together in a very effortless way. So pairing gold long earrings with a long gold neckless was a no brainer!
