Chasing the Sun

Happy Thursday Everyone! Only one more day until its the weekend! Whoop! Whoop! I am also one more week closer to going on a much needed vacation! I will be updated you on where I am going and staying in later blog post! For today's post, I wanted to show you some of my cult favorites with a summer twist! As we all know its Summer and it has been so hot lately! I am apologizing in advance for my sweat! I like to take my photos in direct sunlight, so you can all see my Black Girl Magic!

In today's look I wanted to play with one of my all-time fave culottes from Zara. I got these last Fall/Winter and I wear them all the time! I thought that it would be interesting to style something that I usually wear during a different season. The material of these culottes is rather thick, but surprisingly the material is breathable. At first I wanted to wear these pants with a halter top that I got from Urban, but I am still working out the kinks of not exposing my chest for the whole world to see, so you know what I did? I went to my mother's closet of course! She just has everything a young girl in her early 20s needs. I would like to think that my style is comfortable-flowy-chic and I don't like showing too much skin or skin that no one in the world has seen before, if that makes any sense? I want to stay to true to myself and my style and dress in a way that screams ME! Long story short, I am not 100% comfortable with this top, but I will eventually wear it with confidence!

In it's place, I am wearing this all white J-crew halter-shirt. Fun Fact: The reason why I named this post "Chasing the Sun" is because my sister and I waited 15 minutes for the sun to come behind this HUGE cloud and when it did we ran to this yellow wall (which was on a private film lot, that we were not allowed to be on) and got some great shots! Per usual, the sun was coming in and out and I wanted to get some more shots in, and just my luck my freakin' shoe strap breaks!

(Warning: RANT)

I was so upset about this happening! I have had these shoes for over 3 years I got them from Public Desire when I was first starting to get into my own when it came to fashion, so these shoes really meant a lot to me, but this too shall pass and I know I will buy more shoes in the future, but its okay for me to morn for just a little while.

My sister came up the the brilliant idea to "chase the sun" so that I continue this shoot. I honestly could have given up. With the sun not on my side and my shoe breaking, I could have settled and stayed with what I had, but that's not me fam! I won't ever give up! So, I changed locations and shoes! And I am so happy with this mixed turn of events! Can we talk about these heels though!?!?! I got these shoes from Urban (on sale!!) and I have never worn heels this high before! I kinda like it! I will be wearing them soon in a future post, I promise!
