Fall Trends: Stripes and Leather

This season I have made it a goal to apply more trends to my fall wardrobe. I think that trends don't have to always be followed, but they can be a great way to experiment with looks that you would not necessarily wear everyday. I like to start off simple before I go BIG and plunge myself into a trend. This past weekend I wanted to play with something I am very familiar with: stripes! But then I wanted to add another element like leather to balance all the lines.

With this simple look I created I used my strip shirt as the center piece and I styled everything else around it. I kept it neutral with a black and white long sleeve stripped shirt. I didn't want to be too daring and try multicolored stripes.

I paired my neutral top with my cool ( by "cool" I'm mean referring to color) Topshop jeans. I LOVE these jeans so much because they always come in handy as my trendy element to any look that I want to create. You can never go wrong with ripped jeans! I will say that crotch is low and that is very off putting for me because I don't think low crotch is flattering on me, but what can a girl do?

I decided to be daring by adding a bit of contrast to my stripped pattern by adding a cheetah print belt. I think this addition is a rather cheeky way to spice up a rather dark look.

It was a no brainer to pair my leather chelsea boots with this look. I think that there is no other perfect pairing then leather on the top of my look and leather on bottom. Keeping the the black theme cohesive is important to the esthetic that I am trying to uphold. I really like leather in the fall because it makes me feel like a bad ass no matter what I'm doing. Leather is an essential for fall because it's great at keeping you warm in the colder months.

Overall, I find this look to be very simple and easy to put together. I want to put more thought into each look that I create from here on out. I think that more thought brings out more creativity. I would like to experiment more with stripes. I would some day want to have the confidence to wear a whole stripped look! I love stripes that much!

Thank you so much for reading! Until next time!!
